Board Governance

STP Board members are community representatives appointed each by the Chief and Council of one of ten participating St’at’imc communities, The Chair and the Vice Chair are elected by the Board every four years.  Board members meet regularly on the third Thursday of the month. Members serve on various committees: Finance, Human Resources, Policy & Governance and Website.  Contact the Board for all governance and non-operational matters.

Our Mission – The Stl’atl’imx Tribal Police provides a community based service that reflects the needs, culture, customs and rights of the St’at’imc people, and is committed to the safety and security of our communities and ensures that the St’at’imc people, and others, are always treated with dignity and respect.

STPS Strategic Plan 2023-2027

Prior to their Strategic Planning session in July 2022, the STP Board reached out to seek input on their efforts. Members of the communities, stakeholders and affiliated persons and groups were invited to participate in a survey leading up to the July 20 to 21 weekend. Their responses and views regarding the policing service were heard by the STP Board and now form an integral part of the organizations way forward in the next 5 years.

The STP Board has since completed the Strategic Plan for 2023-2027. Over a two-days period in Squamish, BC, the organization’s leaders determined their vision for the future and identified their goals and objectives for BC’s only recognized First Nations police service. Board members, STPS Chief Officer and Finance Clerk, representatives from both BC Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General and Canada Public Safety, plus one delegate from St’at’imc Chiefs Council successfully collaborated in updating the document to identify STPS top priorities that will lead the actions of the organization until 2027.

My name is Andrianna Peters.  I prefer to be called Andi.  I come from the Peters family.  My grandparents are Norman & Patricia Peters and my mother is Melissa Peters. I was born and raised in the Fraser Valley yet have made my way home to Tipella and the Stl’atl’imx territory throughout my life. I am currently into my second year on Council and am extremely appreciative of the experiences and opportunities it has given me so far, such as being placed in this role to join the Board of Directors of the STPS. I am sure to gain the same amount of respect and leadership guidance as I have within my own community and am dedicated in helping to contribute to a healthy, safe, culturally aware society.

LIL’WAT – Troy Bikadi
Sworn-in on November 16, 2023

Hi I am Nt’eqwk, Troy Bikadi, son of Teddy and Veronica Bikadi. For Lil’wat I’m a member of our nations Council, my work is Community and Workplace Health and Safety Officer and serve as a volunteer Fireman. The many priorities of my life include safety for me, my family, Lil’wat, and all Stl’atl’imx so we may love and protect our way throughout our land. My favorite is singing and dancing at cultural nights and hope to see you there soon.

T’IT’Q’ET – Genny Humphreys​

I am Genevieve “Genny” Humphreys. My parents are Grand Chief James Scotchman and Placida. I have lived in Lillooet most of my life. T’it’q’et Chief and Council appointed me as their board representative in February, 2010. During my time on the Board, I am currently on the Human Resources Committee. Over the years, I have taken training  in Restorative Justice, Shop Steward, Occupational Health & Safety, Hospice Volunteer, and Eldercare Chair Massage. I am actively involved in my community by being on committees. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, reading and looking after my flower garden.

TSAL’ALH – Fran Shields
Sworn-in on January 29, 2023

My name is Fran Shields.  My parents are Fred and Clara Shields.  I am from Tsal’alh and have lived in Seton Valley most of my life.  Tsal’alh Chief and Council appointed me as their board representative in November 2022.  I was newly elected into council in October 2022.  I currently work at the Lil’tem Mountain Hotel at the front desk, as Housekeeping Manager and as Assistant manager of the Cranes Landing RV park.  I love going up to the Tsal’alh owned cabin in the early summer and fall to cook for our culture camps. I also have been playing ball-hockey goalie for various teams for approximately 12 years.
