AUSTINSON at grad 2 cropped &amp; resized\" loading=\"lazy\" role=\"img\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-f6ea7171\">\n<p>Constable Jordan Austinson graduated from the Police Academy at the Justice Institute of BC on March 8, 2024 in Vancouver, BC.&nbsp; He obtained his high-school diploma in 2018 from Lillooet Secondary School in Lillooet, BC.&nbsp; He completed 3 years of post-secondary education at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops where he studied business administration.&nbsp; Before he launched into his police training, he worked for 1 &amp; \u00bd years at the Lillooet Veneer plant.&nbsp; Jordan grew up in a household of policemen.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;His father worked for the STPS and his grandfather was an RCMP officer.&nbsp; Despite their influence on him, he decided to pursue a policing career only once he came to the realization that he wanted to stay in his community and contribute to the community of Xaxli\u2019p.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-3a05f31b alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-ef958fa1\">\n<p>Jordan enjoys the freedom aspect of policing compared to other work he has done.&nbsp; He can go from filing reports to stopping by the school and from patrolling to actively recruiting other community members.&nbsp; When he sees that friends and community members are intrigued with his profession, he does his best to get them to commit to applying as a recruit officer.&nbsp; One of his best friends who had been interested in policing since Jordan became an officer is now going ahead with his own application.&nbsp; Another recent STPS recruit was a hockey buddy.&nbsp; And, yet another recruit is his school friend.&nbsp; His parents are STPS Staff Sergeant Dale Austinson, originally from Ontario, and Stacey Austinson from the community of Xaxli\u2019p.&nbsp; You can find Jordan playing hockey and golf, fishing or dirt biking just for fun when he is not working. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-b1c13923\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-3785e19c wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-none\"><figure class=\"wp-block-uagb-image__figure\"><img decoding=\"async\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stlatlimxpolice.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/2024-03-08-Cst.-J.-AUSTINSON-at-grad-3-cropped-2-210x300.jpg ,https:\/\/stlatlimxpolice.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/2024-03-08-Cst.-J.-AUSTINSON-at-grad-3-cropped-2.jpg 780w, https:\/\/stlatlimxpolice.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/2024-03-08-Cst.-J.-AUSTINSON-at-grad-3-cropped-2.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 150px\" src=\"https:\/\/stlatlimxpolice.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/2024-03-08-Cst.-J.-AUSTINSON-at-grad-3-cropped-2-210x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"uag-image-1775\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" title=\"2024 03 08 Cst.
